Hello – I’m Isaac.  I am a landscape and wildlife photographer from Northern California.

In addition to being a photographer, I am an ophthalmologist, founder, CEO, and entrepreneur. I wear a lot of hats and spend a lot of time exercising my “left” brain at work.  Photography is my “right” brain passion.  It is my balance and my wonder.

There is a delectation in vision.  Like all our senses, we sometimes don’t appreciate the wonder of our visual experience until it is damaged or gone. 

I spend my day not as Isaac – but as Doctor B – treating and diagnosing people with deficient vision. Many would trade anything to experience the beauty and wonder of an impactful landscape photograph one more time.  A rainbow-colored bird caught in mid-flight. A sunrise or set over a mountainous alpine lake.  The smile and innocent awe of an excited child.  A photograph is life captured in our most pleasing sense.

A great photo hits us in our retinas and forces us to pay attention.  To appreciate the visual beauty that exists all around us. It lights up our lateral geniculate nuclei and floods us with dopamine.  Our visual cortex is fired up and all our perceptions are alerted and aware.  We are affected.  We are impacted.  We feel.
